About Josh Belk

Josh Belk has been teaching theatre since 2004. He taught at Pomona HS in Arvada, Colorado and Lewis-Palmer High School in Monument, Colorado. He is a proud member of the inaugural staff that opened Palmer Ridge High School in 2008.

Josh received his BA in Theatre Arts with emphases in Theatre Education, Design Technology, and Directing from the University of Northern Colorado. He has served as a board member on the Boards of Directors of the Alliance for Colorado Theatre, and the Colorado Alliance of Technical Theatre Educators. Stage Directions Magazine named his Bear Necessity Theatre Company a 2015 winner of the High School Honors Theatre Program, and BNTC was recognized in 2017 by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts' Bobby G Awards for their Colorado premier of Starlight Express. Josh has been nominated twice for the Bobby G Award for Outstanding Achievement in Scenic Design.

In 2022, he was awarded the Colorado High School Theatre Teacher of the Year by Colorado Thespians. Some favorites from Josh's productions include Starlight Express, The Boys Next Door, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Becky’s New Car, Seussical, Twelfth Night, And A Child Shall Lead, Into the Woods, Disney's The Little Mermaid, and The Addams Family.
